An odd conversation with NetVibes

I like NetVibes. I’ve been using it for 3 or 4 years now. I have several hundred RSS feeds that I subscribe to.

I wrote them this note:

I have request. I need to know the 20 websites that I read most often. You say “dashboard everything”. I need a dashboard that reminds me what I read. Can you offer that?

From our Codewi.se users, we get email like this all the time. People often write us and suggest new features, and I like hearing people’s suggestions.

I thought NetVibes’s response was odd:

Hi Lawrence,

Ok, you win, we can’t dashboard this ;)

Regards,

Clovis

I thought perhaps they simply hadn’t understood my request, so I tried to rephrase it:

Can you track which sites I click through to, and then show me a list of that? You already do this for individual articles. I assume it would be easy for you to do the same for the site links?

They responded with:

Unfortunately this feature doesn’t exist on Netvibes.

Clovis

I thought that was odd. Mostly the tone of voice is odd. Nothing about “Thank you for your suggestion” or “We will consider adding this to future versions of NetVibes”.

Odd. Their response is very different from how I handle similar suggestions from my own customers.
