An innocent man spends 30 years in prison
(written by lawrence, however indented passages are often quotes)
Awful. This guy was innocent yet he spent 30 years in prison. Some people seem to think that we have too many civil rights protections for criminals, but I read this and I think we do not have nearly enough. In particular, the presumption of innocence is rarely honored in the ways that would make a difference for those who are innocent.
