What Dorkbot needs

(written by Lawrence Krubner, however indented passages are often quotes)

A friend and I went to Dorkbot (the September meeting). This was perhaps the best Dorkbot we’ve been to, and I’ve gone a half dozen times over the last 2 years. Afterwards, my friend said something wise about what made this meeting so good. Simon Burton was something of a quack. BabyCastles represented the youth scene, and the Brooklyn scene, and the game scene, 3 things that almost never appear at Dorkbot. My friend said “Too many of Dorkbot presentations are grad students who come here and show there grad school projects. I want more diversity.”

Mind you, some of the grad students work that we have seen has been dazzling. But it is nice to get more than just that.
