Why is the Safari browser so buggy?
(written by Lawrence Krubner, however indented passages are often quotes)
I had an old Macintosh computer, and I noticed that the Safari web browser was buggy. Then, last week, I got a brand new Mac Mini. On this new machine, Safari is even worse. I think most of the trouble comes from Flash, but Safari itself often makes very bad decisions about how I want to organize my web browsing. I’ve downloaded Chrome. Now I only use FireFox and Chrome. Both seem more intuitive and less buggy than Safari.
UPDATE: Ah, I take it back. After about an hour of use, Chrome crashed. I had 9 windows open, and they all became unresponsive. I had to Force Quit. Then I relaunched it, but Chrome remained unresponsive. I launched FireFox, but it too would only give a white screen, unresponsive. So apparently the whole Mac had become unstable. So I had to reboot the whole machine, which I regard as a black mark against Macs. Once I had rebooted the Mac, I launched Chrome. It helpfully said “Chrome was not shut down properly, would you like to restore the windows that you had opened?” I clicked yes, but it only opened 1 window. It had forgotten the 9 windows I had open. Frustrating.
