But why not use this notation for real? He makes the point that his notation is more clear than UML.

When I was a kid I hated math. As I got older I realized I loved logic, and this made me a good computer programmer. When I look back, I realize that as a kid I hated math notation. Even when the math ideas are interesting, the notation put me off. Notation is important. Current math notation was invented by a bunch of old white dudes in Europe during the 1600s. Maybe it is time to update math notation?
